Allinol is the name of the supposed biofuel created by Miles Axlerod in Cars 2.

it was first thought that Allinol was the outcome of Miles's research to find a renewable and clean burning fuel. Axlerod organized the World Grand Prix to promote it.

At the end of the movie, it is revealed that Allinol is not biofuel after all, and is simply ordinary gasoline that Axlerod bio-engineered to expand and eventually explode if hit with an electro-magentic raditation beam, which was part of a plan to ruin the reputation of all biofuels, which would make Axlerod and the Lemons the most powerful cars in the world, since they have the largest amount of untapped oil reserves in the world.

Allinol could be lethal for a car if the level of radiation is sufficient and, as such, was used to torture and kill Rod Redline.

This was all part of Sir Miles Axlerod's very own plan to turn the world against alternative energy and have them rely on gasoline due to him and his Lemon henchmen owning the largest untapped oil reserves on the planet.

What happened to Allinol after Axlerod was arrested and his scheme is done, is but unclear. Presumably, the fuel was disused because of its original use.

Trivia

  • The name "Allinol" is likely to be a play on the words "all in all" and "ethanol". The resulting word sounds like "all in all" when said aloud.
  • The logo for Allinol is a modified version of the logo used for the Land Pavilion at Walt Disney World's EPCOT Center from 1982 to 2005.
  • The fact that Allinol is used in endurance racing is likely a reference to the recent introduction of alternative fuels to the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the American Le Mans Series. Some of the Le Mans Prototypes use alternative fuels in the ALMS as a part of the Green X Challenge championship. Also, in 2014, Formula One car engines were made more environmentally-friendly and fuel efficient.
  • Allinol's mascot was Globie, a car-ified globe with wheels and a windshield.
