The Banlands, also referred to as Hell by some, is a mythical place in the massively multiplayer online game platform Roblox. It is believed that people such as corrupted users, hackers, exploiters or other similar figures are sent to after being banned from the Platform.
Appearance[]
Mainstream[]
Banlands has been described everywhere it has been mentioned, official or not, in a similar or almost identical way. It was believed to be a place where people who were banned from Roblox for breaking the rules or for other reasons were sent, and that it was a completely dark place that involved different methods of punishment/torture, and was believed to be a kind of Hell on the platform.
The Games[]
In The Games event, Banlands consisted of floating islands and other objects in the middle of the void in green-black tones. It was possible to see sculptures of the Imagination Core flying around and broken into pieces, pillars, vases and chains connected between the pillars. These objects were most likely made to create the feeling of not being anchored on Roblox Studio.
History[]
Background[]
Not only is there very little information about the Badlands, but whether or not that information is true is another matter, as the Badlands originated as a myth among the Roblox community. It is also a matter of debate whether Banlands was first released as a game or whether it was simply a rumor that spread by word of mouth, as there are various different sources about its origins.
The Games[]
In The Games event, players traveled to Banlands and fought 1x1x1x1 in an arena to stop him. This was also the first official appearance of Banlands on Roblox.
Inmates[]

1x1x1x1 in his boss fight arena, located in Banlands.
Known Inmates[]
1x1x1x1: After the events of The Classic, 1x1x1x1 was sent to the Banlands. 1x1x1x1 was trapped there until The Games, and fought the players one last time towards the end of the event in an attempt to escape, but was defeated again. Additionally, according to 1x1x1x1's lore, he was imprisoned by Two-by-Two at the dawn of time. Some believe that Two-by-Two imprisoned 1x1x1x1 in the Banlands, but there is no evidence of this.
In Other Media[]
Pressure[]
In the 2024 multiplayer horror game Pressure, similar to the original, the Badlands are depicted as the Hell of the game's universe, where sinners go after they die. If players use an item called the Ferryman Token upon death, they will be reborn with the help of a character called Lady Death, and find themselves in the Banlands. The Banlands were also home to a monster called the Guardian Angel of the Banlands.
A Roblox Quest[]
In the popular series A Roblox Quest, Banlands was used as a map in its spin-off series Halloween 2013: A New Threat.

Trivia[]
- There are many myths that the accounts of Minish, jaredvaldez4, and others involved in the 2012 April Fools Incident were sent to Banlands after the incident. However, there is nothing to suggest this, or any solid evidence to show.
