Mutagenes

Mutagenes are substances that induce mutation in animals, humans or plants - often this is done via genetic-manipulation but can also be done via magic or other unorthodox means, due to the body horror involved in mutagenic scenarios it is often considered among the most nightmarish forms of infections and if weaponized can make a villain or organization especially feared and heinous in nature.

Many doomsday scenarios are born of worlds where mutagenes have grown out of control, such as zombie outbreaks or mutant rebellions.
