The Desire Grand Prix is an event held by the Desire Grand Prix Staff in Kamen Rider Geats.
In the Desire Grand Prix, various individuals are offered the chance to become Kamen Riders and fight against the Jyamato, a mysterious enemy force that attacks in waves. Each round of the game involves the Riders fighting against a different themed variant of Jyamato and competing to score points by defeating as many Jyamato as possible. The Rider who survives to the final round and accrues enough points is the winner, and is rewarded by having reality rewritten to grant them their desire.
While the Desire Grand Prix nominally exists to combat the Jyamato, this is in fact a lie told to the Riders participating in the game. The true nature of the Desire Grand Prix is a reality TV game show broadcast to entertain an audience in the far future.
History[]
The Desire Grand Prix was created to entertain the denizens of the future, whose lives were stale and boring thanks to the quasi-omnipotent powers their technology offered them and the fact that their lifespans were all predetermined.
The DGP Staff use a mysterious being called the "Goddess of Creation" to power their game and grant them the ability to reshape reality. They also created a race of monsters called the "Jyamato" to serve as enemies for each round of the game. For each season of the game, the DGP Staff would travel to different past time period in order to give the game an "exotic" location, including the 21st Century, which is as ancient to them as Roman civilization is to someone in that time. The DGP Staff would recruit Riders from the denizens of each time period, occasionally resulting in some subtle alterations to history thanks to the desires of several winners.
