Prepare the Dieselnaut! We're going hunting!
~ Iron Baron to Daddy No Legs about the Dieselnaut after the ninja escaped from Dead's End.

The Dieselnaut is a armored tank-like fortress presumably made from many pieces of other vehicles that usually served as the Dragon Hunters' main vehicle of hunting by the time they were led by Iron Baron in Season 9: Hunted of LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu.

Among its many features, there is a cylindrical prison cell on the back to transports prisoners and also a giant Chain turret used to capture Dragons. Another unique feature is a screw in the middle of it that, upon removal, splits the Dieselnaut in two halves.

Despite its size and heavy armor, the Dieselnaut is presumably the among the fastest, if not the fastest vehicle the Hunters use, as it can catch with Hunter Speeders as seen in "The Weakest Link."

History[]

Despite not physically appearing in the episode, the Dieselnaut's tracks are discovered by Wu and Cole after the Dragon Hunters captured Kai, Jay and Zane, implying the Hunters traveled using the Dieselnaut.

The Dieselnaut is first seen when Kai, Jay and Zane are placed in the vehicle's cylindrical prison cell. After Iron Baron spoke with the ninja and hinted at their future use, he ordered Muzzle to gas the Dieselnaut before bothering him and the other Hunters. Cole and Wu, disguised as Hunters, tried to take the Dieselnaut's turret before they were intercepted by Daddy No Legs who asked what they were doing prior to being sent away by Wu. When Iron Baron announced the hunt, the Dieselnaut was among the many vehicles that departed from Dead's End.

The night of the hunt, the Dieselnaut was parked near the Hunters who built a campfire while waiting for a Dragon to arrive. Once a Wind Dragon appeared, Iron Baron ordered to capture it, Cole took the Dieselnaut's turret and aimed for the pole with the ninja while faking it was a mistake, only angering Daddy No Legs. When the Wind Dragon attempted to flee, Iron Baron ordered her chase, with the ninja being taken back to the Dieselnaut's prison cell and the Hunters piloting the vehicle to chase the Wind Dragon. It fired a Chain from the turret which allowed Heavy Metal to ride the Wind Dragon and take it down.

The Dieselnaut appeared dragging the chained Wind Dragon back to Dead's End. It's also the only instance where some of the inside is shown, with a radio room having Daddy No Legs and Muzzle inside. Once it arrived to Dead's End, young Hunters cheered the capture and Iron Baron announced a feast.

After the Firstbourne attacked Dead's End and the ninja escaped, Iron Baron ordered the Dieselnaut's preparation in order to hunt the ninja.

The Dieselnaut is among the many vehicles that composed the hunting group for the ninja. It also stopped when the Hunters found Daddy No Legs and Muzzle tied in the middle of the desert.

The Dieselnaut, along with the other vehicles, continued tracking the ninja before they stopped at the line that separated the Dragon land and Oni Land, before crossing it under Iron Baron's order.

When the Hunters found Faith (the true identity of Heavy Metal) and the ninja, the Dieselnaut and the other vehicles gave them chase. The chase continued in a cave, where it caught up to Faith and Wu's Hunter Speeder, with Iron Baron jumping on the speeder.

After exiting the cave, Faith commented how they can't outrun the Hunters due to the Dieselnaut, but Cole proposed to take it. The ninja started boarding the Dieselnaut (much to Iron Baron's rage) and kicked out any Hunter who tried to fight them. Wu lifted the main hatch, revealing Arkade piloting the vehicle, and ordered the Hunter to get out only for the latter to defy him before being shortly taken out. Cole soon used the Chain turret to bring down the HunterCopter Iron Baron was on. Iron Baron on another vehicle and had it plus others slow down the Dieselnaut so that the ninja doesn't escape. Faith tried to unstick the chains but is chained up by Jet Jack. Faith, however, manages to go in the center of the Dieselnaut and remove a screw that split the Dieselnaut in two halves, with the ninja escaping with the front half and the rear half slowly stopping.

The ninja used the front half of the vehicle to travel where Faith was buried. After they were captured, the Dieselnaut reappears complete during Iron Baron's celebration, the two halves having been reconnected off-screen.

The Dieselnaut appeared during the Hunters' argue about whether side with the ninja or not.

The Dieselnaut appeared in Faith's flashback when the Omega arrived in the First Realm.
