The Elephant Graveyard is a valley littered with dead elephant skeletons that is the home of the Hyena Clan and a location in Disney's The Lion King.

The Lion King[]

It is first mentioned by Simba, who refers to it as a "shadowy place", asking his father King Mufasa about what it is. Mufasa then tells Simba that since it is beyond their borders, he must never go there. Later, Simba is tricked by his uncle Scar into going there with his best friend Nala. There, Shenzi, Banzai and Ed try to kill the cubs, but they are defeated by Mufasa. Later, Scar has a meeting with the hyenas in the Elephant Graveyard, where he sings "Be Prepared". After this, the Elephant Graveyard is not seen again for the rest of the film.

The Lion King II: Simba's Pride[]

In the sequel, Nuka and his sister Vitani visit the Elephant Graveyard to get fire from the geysers to start the wildfire in the Pride Lands. The Hyenas seem to have left the Elephant Graveyard, since Nuka says "Eww. This place is even creepier since the hyenas ran off."

The Lion King 1 1/2[]

In this film, Timon and Pumbaa attempt to make the Elephant Graveyard their home, and are scared when Mufasa comes roaring past them to save Simba and Nala. They later decide to leave the place once the hyenas are marching to "Be Prepared".
