The Great war as a 6 hour nuclear war that was started in Saturday, October 23, 2077, as of the result of the Sino-American war. The results of the war as the exposure of radiation and billions of casualties as it all happened in 2 hours. The United States was no longer a thing and the rest of world was a wasteland. As the results of the The Great war, there was radiation, new monsters, homicides, suicides and even starvation.
History[]
The war would being October 23, 2077, United States Pacific Fleet submersible objects would be found on 00:03 around the coast of California. Bombers would be found around the Being Strait and thought to be Chinese. One of the Chinese submarine called the Yangtze, was the only submarine that moved closed to the East Coast of America, and would launch of the warheads.
6 hours later, IONDS found one of the first 4 missiles to the US which went DEFCON 2. Around 4 minutes later, NORAD confirmed the worlds fate. 9:26 EST would order a strike to MX-CN91. The Nukes would hit New York and Pennsylvania around 9:42 EST. The Bombs would drop some more and would hit Washington ,DC and most of the faculties would go online. China and US would exchange nukes in 2 hours. Almost everything would get destroyed.

- In an interview in 2022, when asked who started the Great War, artist Leonard Boyarsky stated that he thought it should not really matter who started it. Lead programmer Tim Cain said that while China launched the first missile, the U.S. had been doing illegal biotech research and kept doing it after being exposed, which could be seen as a start to the Great War.
- In a post on the Modiphius Discord server, game programmer Jesse Heinig said the following regarding the Great War: "Personally I think who started the war is kind of a less interesting question than 'what policy and agenda failures created conditions that drove to a global nuclear war'. Like, I feel (and I suspect Tim feels the same) that I'm less interested in who fired the first missile, than in what kind of jingoism, revanchism, imperialism, and bigotry created the climate in which people in power felt that destroying civilization was their best action compared to all other alternatives.".
- The war is referred to as World War III on the Fallout Trilogy PC cover. In the Fallout intro, the narrator states that "the storm of world war had come again.".
- Within the abandoned script of the cancelled Fallout movie, neither China, India, nor even North Korea launched the first bomb. It was in fact the creator of the Vault-Tec Vaults, who launched the first bomb to fulfill his own prophecy of nuclear Armageddon.
