The Halloween Three is the name given to a range of 3 Halloween masks released by the evil company Silver Shamrock Novelties in the critically-panned stand-alone sequel Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. These masks all contain a branded Silver Shamrock button (commonly thought to be a microchip) that emit a ray of light, killing any child unlucky enough to be wearing the masks when the Big Giveaway Commercial is shown. The child's head begins decomposing and produces a swarm of insects and snakes to kill anyone in the vicinity due to a cursed fragment of Stonehenge contained in the microchips.
History[]
The three masks (a witch, a Jack O'Lantern pumpkin, and a skull) were created by the evil Conal Cochran in order to kill children in a primitive pagan Celtic ritual once known as the "Festival of Samhain" or "Samhain" 3,000 years ago (now better known as "All Hallows Eve" and "Halloween"), and mass produced by Cochran's company Silver Shamrock Novelties. The masks contain a microchip which in turn contains a fragment of a stolen monolith from Stonehenge, which imbues the masks with the power to kill their wearers when the microchip is activated. They were released to stores in October of 1982 A.D., to coincide with Shamrock's Big Giveaway. At the start of the Giveaway, a pumpkin would flash up on the screen and activate the microchips in the masks, killing thousands of children across the country alongside their families.
A man named Harry Grimbridge discovers the dark truth about the Shamrock masks and is thus killed by Cochran's androids. Dr. Dan Challis and Harry's daughter Ellie traveled to the town of Santa Mira where the Silver Shamrock factory is, to discover the truth. During their stay in Santa Mira, a woman named Marge Guttman discovers the microchip on the back of a Halloween Three mask. One of the deadly rays is emitted when Marge interferes with the chip, killing her and horrifically disfiguring her corpse, which is then infested by bugs.
The masks are next seen when Conal Cochran tests one of them out on the family of a Shamrock salesman named Buddy Kupfer. The family are shown the Big Giveaway advert, which results in Buddy Jr. suffering the mask's fatal effects. As her son's head decomposes and begins releasing bugs and snakes, Mrs Kupfer collapses for unknown reasons, apparently dead. Buddy Sr. almost escapes but is overwhelmed by the snakes and killed. After this demonstration, Cochran attempts to kill Dan by forcing him to wear one of the masks and showing him the Big Giveaway on a TV, but Dan manages to get free and kill Cochran by playing the commercial, detonating the microchips still at the factory. This also causes several Halloween Three masks being stored there to catch fire.
Following one TV network ignoring Dr. Dan Challis' warnings and airing the Big Giveaway on America's TVs, it can be assumed that the Halloween Three claim the lives of many children across the nation.
Trivia[]
- The masks are briefly seen in the 2018 remake of the original Halloween and its sequel Halloween Kills, although they are harmless in this continuity.
