Circus Del Diablo, better known as the Nightmare Circus, is a cursed ghostly amusement park run by its mad undead namesake ringmaster Leto Diablo who call himself "The Jester". It is the eponymous main setting of the 1996 supernatural horror videogame Nightmare Circus.
This circus was held somewhere within the desert of Arizona.
On opening night in the 1980s (presumably 1986 A.D.), the circus was burned completely to the ground by its shady and villainous operator, Leto Diablo, who intended to cash in on an insurance policy. Afterwards, the Jester was convicted for the deaths of the fire victims. However, before he was executed for his crime by the state, Leto warned that the souls of his victims would be forever tormented.
According to some other towns in the Arizona areas, legend has it, on every stormy night, the Circus Del Diablo comes, and suddenly appears, via the psi-energy of Leto Diablo, now as the Jester, a demonic jester-like apparition of the destroyed carnival. All the murdered carnies there are instead vicious ghouls craving with hunger for the flessh and undead hooligans waving around murder weapons and howling wraiths with shrieking screams that forever haunts the place.
Many years later, a young Native American shaman known only as Raven, who had lost relatives of his in the fire, goes to investigate the very location where the circus was held, and where supernatural events have been reported.
