SCP-823 was finally abandoned after the events known as "Bloody Sunday," when the influence of the artifact in question reached a 20-year peak. 231 attendees were killed, and another seven injured or maimed. The victim's way of death were horrifically violent. Some examples include people decapicated on a rollar coaster, a mascot found dead of suffocation, a couple fused together on a ride, and a mutilated man found in the Hall of mirrors (survived but his right arm).

Description

SCP-823 was finally abandoned after the events known as "Bloody Sunday," when the influence of the artifact in question reached a 20-year peak. 231 attendees were killed, and another seven injured or maimed. The victim's way of death were horrifically violent. Some examples include people decapitated on a roller coaster, a mascot found dead of suffocation, a couple fused together on a ride, and a mutilated man found in the Hall of mirrors (survived but his right arm).

SCP-823 is to be secured by no fewer than six on-site personnel until such time as decontamination protocols can be established and the artifact in question neutralized. Personnel must respect a twenty-meter safe zone around the currently established Red (No Entry) Zone at all costs. Any individual, civilian or not, who enters the established Red Zone is to be terminated immediately by sniper fire.

Should music or piping be heard emanating from within the Red Zone, Foundation personnel on-site are to immediately don protective earplugs and withdraw from their positions to a 2 km perimeter, beyond the currently established Yellow (No Civilian Presence) Zone, and inform Foundation scientific personnel immediately. Following the realignment event, Foundation science personnel will survey the area and determine the boundaries of the new Red and Yellow zones using Procedure 823-1-Alpha.

Due to the necessity of maintaining auditory alertness, no personal music devices or radios aside from necessary equipment are to be allowed at the observation site.

Trivia

  • SCP-832 was ranked #15 on Tat's Top Video's video: Top 22 Scariest SCPS.
  • Judging some of the pictures' origin on the page of SCP-823, it's speculated that the idea of SCP-823 was based on some infamous abandoned amusement park, including Pripyat, an abandoned theme park located in Pripyat, Ukraine, which was abandoned in 1986 due to Chernobyl disaster.
    • Another amusement park it was based on was Okpo Land, an abandoned amusement park based in the outskirts of Okpo-dong, South Korea. It was shut down in May 1999 after a series of fatal accidents, in particular the death of a child who fell from the duck rollercoaster ride. It was abolished in 2011 and was replaced by a hotel.
    • Some of the inspiration (and the rollar coaster's photo) was also taken from Nara Dreamland, an abadoned amusement park that formerly situated in Nara, Japan. It was built in 1961 and deserted in 2006. It was demolished between 2016 to 2017.
