Soul Stones are huge ancient obeliscal runestones with the power to replenish magic users' powers.

It is said by denizens of the Netherrealm the Soul Stones were found within the hoary wastelands of the Netherrealm's and erected by sorcerers to serve as a fountain of magic in the normally magically devoid underworld due to the fact once such spellcasters' energy gets drained upon their entry in the lower planes of the dark realm.
