The Calamity

The Calamity is a magical but sinister event that plays a role in Spyro: Shadow Legacy.

It is the name of the massive wave of black magic that was generated from the Shadow Amplifier machines created by the Sorcerer to imprison all the inhabitants of the Dragon Realms, Avalar, and the Forgotten Worlds into the Shadow Realm and drain them of their magical energies.

The Sorcerer attempted to build another Shadow Amplifier that would let loose a more powerful Calamity strong enough to trap the entire worlds in the Shadow Realm forever, but he was defeated by Spyro and the Calamity was stopped in the end.
