The Storm is a sentient, antagonistic force featured, and also the main antagonist in My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Spring Breakdown.
He is the residual magic of the Storm King, who infiltrated the Human World and attempted to kill the Humane 7.

From what can be discerned, this phenomenon originated from magic within the Storm King's Staff of Sacanas and initially had no personality of his own.
My Little Pony: The Movie[]
Apparently, after the Storm King's death, he somehow separated from his staff's magic, gained sentience, and fled to the human world on an island in the ocean, gradually developing his powers and preparing to destroy the human world.
My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Spring Breakdown[]
The Storm finally made his move upon sensing the presence of Equestrian magic, taking advantage of Rainbow Dash's obssession with finding the "evil magic" to the island. Aware of Sunset Shimmer and Sci-Twi would surely go after her, he also realized that their interest in Equestria (especially Rainbow Dash and Sci-Twi) would distract them long enough for him to kill the remaining members of the Humane 7. While Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer, and Sci-Twi were in Equestria, Storm began sadistically tormenting the already terrified passengers of the ship carrying the rest of the Humane 7, attempting to strike them with lightning. As a result, he deprived the passengers of their only chance of escape by destroying the boats. While attempting to deal them all the fatal blow, he was reabsorbed into the Staff of Sacanas, where he was returned by Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer, and Sci-Twi, who had returned to the human world.
The Storm's subsequent fate is unknown, but it is clear that he would wreak havoc should anyone released him from the Staff of Sacanas.
Personality[]
Despite being devoid of any hint of emotion or any hint of intelligence at all, and generally perceived by the main characters as more of a destructive magical force from Equestria, The Storm's personality can still be understood and discerned, albeit very difficult. The Storm, like his creator the Storm King, has no interest in "controlling" anyone or anything. He simply enjoys terrorizing and destroying any civilization or even race he encounters, as well as collecting magical items to empower himself. However, he is willing to destroy these "magical items" if they pose a threat to him and his plans. This may explain why he chose to get rid of the Humane 7 instead of taking their magic for himself.
By nature, The Storm is a calculating, chaotic, and highly sadistic magical entity who enjoys the pain and psychological suffering of living beings; his favorite method of torment was to psychologically scare his victims and toy with them like insects before fatally striking them all, and takes great pleasure in their utter fear and despair as he mocks them.
Like other Equestrian entities that have been brought to the Human World, he sees no value in any human life. While he has never been seen to be upset or angry, he appears completely monotone most of the time, even when sadistically tormenting people before killing them. He only shows negative emotions when his indirect allies fail to follow orders properly or when his own plans do not go as he wants. Almost the entire time on screen, his "facial" expression never changes or shows any emotion, emphasizing his cold-blooded and sadistic behavior.
He has shown himself to be very manipulative and cunning, able to force others to do what he wants without even saying a word, just by his presence in front of someone. His desire for chaos has also given him a very high intellect and the ability to think tactically. Being a quick-witted and good strategist, Storm is able to quickly and successfully deal with adverse situations, however, this is also due to the fact that losing any of his indirect subordinates means nothing to him in the long run.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Genius-level intelligence: Having the highest intelligence rating of any Equestrian Magic member (tied with Tantabus) in Equestria Girls, but also in the entire MLP G4, and having full mastery of Storm Magic, which he is composed of and controls, Storm is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable. His acquisition of full self-awareness after passing through the indirect transformative type portal, likely enhanced his intelligence and other mental abilities, such as memory and cognitive function. He managed to conceal his presence from the Humane 7 for a significant period of time, and he also used various tricks and ruses to create distractions when he wanted to hide something from his enemies. Even as a newly intelligent Equestrian Magic member, he was adept at exploiting the negative emotions of others to his advantage and could manipulate Rainbow Dash, forcing her to indirectly and unknowingly follow his directions. Storm has been shown to manipulate others into doing his bidding without even realizing it, such as forcing Rainbow Dash to follow him to the island by influencing her with his mere presence, without resorting to verbal or magical manipulation. He also possessed great intelligence in combat. He uses his ability to manipulate Storm Magic to create multiple, destructive bolts of lightning, both for massive area-of-effect attacks and to, for example, knock down lifeboats to prevent his victims from escaping. It's also worth noting that Storm is a magical entity that constantly changes, allowing him to strike in unexpected ways. This was demonstrated when he suddenly changed his attack and fired concentrated lightning at an angle to attack his opponents from hard-to-reach areas of the ship.
- Atmokinesis: The Storm can easily influence the weather: he can cause wind, rain, thunder, snow, and any other weather phenomena. But he mostly prefers to limit himself to thunder and lightning.
- Energokinesis: The Storm can drain energy from various objects and redirect energy-related attacks through himself back at his opponents.
- Teleportation: The Storm uses this skill in combat for attacks, giving himself an advantage in movement speed and the radius of coverage of the territory with various traps. The Storm can also partially materialize and/or project anywhere using teleportation, but most often uses water objects for this. And given Storm's very high intelligence, he can also perform a variety of different maneuvers for different types of attacks and defenses.
- Electrokinesis: Since The Storm has full command of the full potential of the Staff of Sacanas, including Storm Magic, he has also mastered the ability to redirect electricity, including lightning, control the power, charge and voltage of electricity, charge electrical devices (possibly), disable equipment, create electromagnetic fields and affect metal, as well as pass electricity through weapons. Also, with the help of this ability, he has super-speed, which allows him not only to quickly move wherever he wants, but also to dodge any attacks from opponents.
- Synnephokinesis: This ability is used by The Storm to grow more clouds and/or thunderclouds around himself, not only to increase his size, but also to increase the range of his attacks. And if we take into account the fact that The Storm himself is made of clouds and/or thunderclouds, then he can theoretically increase the area of his influence and damage to infinity, covering the entire planet.
- Frigokinesis: It is apparent that The Storm, having mastered atmoskinesis, can manipulate snow, from a light snowfall to creating a powerful snowstorm.
- Magical immortality and Nigh-absolute invulnerability: The Storm is presumably invulnerable to any effects, with the exception of certain magical attacks (and it is unknown if they can do anything to The Storm). The only thing that can stop his activity is the Staff of Sacanas.
Weaknesses[]
- Link to the Staff of Sacanas: The Storm is still linked to the Staff of Sacanas through his abilities, which led Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight Sparkle to permanently imprison him within the staff.
- Overconfidence and "Personal Interests": The Storm exhibits a certain level of overconfidence, as he failed to consider preventing Sunset Shimmer, Rainbow Dash, and Twilight Sparkle's possible return from Equestria, clearly confident that his plan would work as intended and therefore failed to consider any unexpected changes. Furthermore, due to his own sadistic nature, he prefers to psychologically torture his victims first rather than kill them outright, which largely suggests that his own "hobbies" complicate his own plans, which ultimately led to his defeat.

- Related to his true nature as embodiment of Storm King's magic which inherited its wielder's personality, the Storm is the hardest My Little Pony villain to understand, as it's easy to initially see him as just another soulless Equestrian magic mindlessly causing chaos and destruction in the Human World. But it's only after an extremely close analysis of all of his scenes that his personality, and indeed his intelligence, can be clearly seen in moments like when he intentionally fired a beam of concentrated lightning at the passengers of a liner, or when he destroys lifeboats with pinpoint accuracy to prevent their victims and enemies from escaping. But this is also extremely difficult to notice and understand due to his limited screen time, the lack of any hints of emotion or expression, and the fact that the Mane Seven simply perceive him as a destructive magical force from Equestria.
- At the moment when The Storm released his lightning arms to kill the passengers of the liner and the rest of the Guardians of Friendship, and a few seconds before he was absorbed by the Staff of Sacanas, unintelligible sounds similar to a roar can be clearly heard from him. Perhaps this further proves that The Storm has intelligence.
- The Storm is arguably the darkest and most evil villain in the Equestria Girls franchise, possibly the entire My Little Pony G4. For example, the Dazzlings, although they were a serious threat to the Human World, they only wanted power and had a number of comedic moments. Principal Cinch also stood out from the other Equestria Girls villains in her methods to achieve her goal, but she was not compelling enough to pose any real threat to Mane 7 or the Human World. Juniper Montage, PostCrush, Snips and Snails, Sunset Shimmer, Trixie Lulamoon, Vignette Valencia, and Wallflower Blush either there were comedic moments, redeeming qualities, there was a tragic backstory, or they weren't evil enough. The Storm, on the other hand, is devoid of any comedic moments, and has also proven with his abilities and character that he is the biggest and most serious threat to the Human World and to Mane 7.
- The Storm has few parallels with Discord. Both have truly powerful abilities, both love chaos, both are one the most powerful characters in the My Little Pony franchise (though it is possible that The Storm is even superior to Discord due to his partial immortality and physical invulnerability, while it was shown in the series that Discord can disappear if he does anything contrary to the Chaos Magic that he represents). But the only difference is that The Storm, like Cosmos, uses all its power not for petty fun and jokes, but for the destruction of the environment and the murder of everything that exists. worth noting that Discord, despite all his strength, had many comedic moments, moral boundaries, the presence of redeeming qualities, and by the end of the series he improved and finally became a positive character, The Storm is simply devoid of all these qualities. All he wants is to destroy, torture and simply mock everyone and everything just for the sake of his own sadism.
