The Titan Serum is an importance substance in the manga and anime Attack on Titan. It is a commonly used way for Subjects of Ymir to be transformed into Pure Titans, including many of the main characters.
Design[]
The Titan Serum generally looks like a normal medical syringe. The Titan spinal fluid would have to be compactly situated within the middle part of the syringe, called a barrel, which is made of glass. The fluid is injected by pushing on the back side of the syringe that has a plunger which will then expel the fluid from front part of the needle, or also known as a bevel. The plunger has ring on it, as well as the barrel that have rings on the left and right side, it is used for the holder to grab and use the syringe during the injection. The end of the syringe is attached to a hypodermic needle.
Before the spinal fluid is placed within the barrel of the syringe. The holder has to retract the fluid from a small glass vial with cork on it, supported by thin metallic extensions.
Function[]
The purpose of the Titan Serum is to turn a Subject of Ymir into a Pure Titan, who are the only group of people that are can turn into Titans in the first place. The serum itself is essentially the spinal fluid from Titans, as it evaporates when its outside a titan’s body, in the contact of air. The effects that each Titan shifter’s spinal fluid has on a Subject of Ymir is unknown. But it has been seen that different Titan serums have been seen. With one named, “armor” that Eren Yeager used and then obtained the power to harden his Titan body. It can be assumed that the Ancient Eldian Empire Houses would use these different serums in order to make their Titans stronger.
